Hello parents, performers, students and other loved ones of Cloud Nine Aerial Arts!
It's that time again, and I am putting out a request for help and a fun project for you, your kiddos, and all performers!
First, like last year, we'd love if students and performers could make a personalized 2d ornament! Think roughly 4” in size, but don't stress over it. The point is to make a bit of holiday art we can put on a tree and everyone can take photos in front of!
The ornament can be drawn, painted, crocheted, origamied or any other medium that can be easily hung onto a wall with tape! Starting next Sunday there will be a box in the studio labeled “Studio Ornaments” that you can bring any finished ornaments to! Performers/students are encouraged to put their name on them so that we know who to compliment!
Please make sure ornaments are done and in said box by dress rehearsal so that we can guarantee they are on our tree.
For folks eager to help, we are trying to make a backdrop this year for photos. It'll be green paper taped to the wall near where we handle tickets in Liberty theatre. I can supply the paper, if there are humans that would like to design and cut said paper into a tree shape. Taping it and student ornaments up would likely be done during the 10am rehearsal period.
If you want to go crazy and add a topper or garland or add some presents on the floor, that creative freedom is all yours! Our only request is that performer ornaments can be taped, tacked, or otherwise attached to said tree and that said tree won't damage any walls.
I'm also looking for donations of thin plywood or large sheets of plastic and red, green, white, blue, metallic, glitter or other Holiday colored paint. Wood/plastic sheet sizes would ideally be a minimum of 4’ x4’.
If you'd be interested in the tree backdrop project, let me know. If you have materials for donation, please message me so we can arrange a good pick up time, and if you have questions about student/performer ornaments, just leave a comment and I'll do my best to answer!
I have some 3/8” thick sheets of cedar that we just pulled off closet walls. I think 4x8. You’re welcome to it but I’d ideally like back for reuse. Also have 2 pieces 4x2 1/2” plywood.
